Nihon no fūkei

When I first Okashi, I imagined something like Sei Shonagon's Japanese classic Pillow Book - a collection of poetic musings, observations, scenes, and landscapes that captured my everyday life. That isn't exactly how things turned out. Still, my notebooks are filled with vivid slices of life. Sorting through old photos I am transported back to each beautiful moment. The sights, the sounds, the thoughts running through my head. I wanted to a way to share the poignant memories.

Originally, several of these were posted as Wakayama Scenes. However, as the number of fūkei grew, that didn't seem the right format. I have reformatted them individually and with pictures to help bring them to life. This page will have links to everything in the Nihon no fūkei collection for easy access.

I hope you will enjoy the unique beauty of Japanese scenery through the posts.
